Crunchy nutty chocolate truffle pudding

Very simple truffle made up of caramelized nuts and rich ice cream tempting and very simple to cook, this recipe is so exotic that you can include it in any executive menu……


Chocolate sponge cake…….1
Vanilla ice-cream……………1 kg
Sugar……………………..5 tbsp
Nuts (mix nuts like almonds ,cashew and walnuts)….3/4 cup
Chocolate sauce ……………1 cup
Milk as required


To arrange trifle take a big rectangle glass bowl.
Cut very thin slices of sponge cake.
Take out ice-cream in a bowl and beat it lightly and keep it in fridge
Heat a pan and put sugar in it to caramelized , when sugar start melting and color start changing add nuts in it mix well and take out before it turn dark in color  in a greased steel plate leave it for 10min or till turn hard. Now crush caramelize nuts coarsely keep aside.
Now arrange layer of sliced cake in bottom of the bowl, spread 3 tbsp chocolate sauce over it and sprinkle 3tbsp milk also to soak it.
Sprinkle caramelized nuts on it.
Now put ¼ of the ice-cream on it spread it well.
Again put layer of cake, then chocolate sauce then nuts and ice-cream in last.
Arrange at least three layers like this.
Top with lots of nuts and chocolate sauce and freeze.
Serve chilled….

Gur chana / jaggery coated roasted chickpeas

Very tasty, crunchy yet healthy snack for kids, full of protein . I often make this crunchy delight for munching.

Turnips are called Shalgam in Punjabi/Hindi, Gonglu in Punjabi and Gogji in Kashmiri. They are mild in taste and absorb spices well. We love it in various forms. Shalgam is a winter vegetable and is a popular recipe from Punjabi cuisine. Shalgam (Turnip) belongs to the radish family. Shalgam ki sabzi is very good for health as it is very low in calories and fat, and a good source of fiber and several vitamins like Vitamin C, Vitamin B, VitaminB3, Vitamin B6. Gur is Hindi/Punjabi for jaggery.  This creamy version from Punjab is one of our favourites.
This recipe is from my mother in law's cook book , my mom In law was an excellent cook and being a panjabi, her excellency was panjabi cuisine. She was excellent at cooking all panjabi dishes like sarson ka saag, makkai ki roti, gur ke chawal  or any vegetable like turnip or kormas, . I have learnt almost all panjabi dishes from her and I really wanted to thank her for that , today whatever I make related to punjab reminds me of her . Lov…
